    Clubs & Activities

At Lendrum we believe in encouraging children to explore their world.  Various opportunities are available through clubs and activities to challenge our students to step outside their comfort zone with something new, or to achieve mastery in something familiar. We feature Math Club, Science Club, Choir for Div 1 and Div 2, among others.

    100 km Club

Open to all Lendrum students, this running club is immensely popular with both competitive athletes and recreational enthusiasts alike. We participate in the Harriers races in September/October, as well as the Running Room games in February/March, and the Little Big Run in May. All are welcome to participate. How many kilometres can you run this year?

    Instructional Focus

Our staff has used a variety of methods such as snapshot assessments, surveys, report card information and anecdotal observations to establish our Areas of Focus.  Our intent is to focus our efforts on identified areas of need in order to improve student achievement.  This year, our Areas of Focus are as follows:

In what ways can we improve student achievement in Writing?

To what extent can we improve our communication, participation, and engagement to enhance student achievement and respect the diversity of our community?

Our staff spends time at staff meetings, professional development days, and other meeting times to reflect, discuss, and plan our Areas of Focus.

    Volunteering

Parents, university students, peer mentors and community volunteers contribute time, effort and energy to a vast number of Lendrum school projects virtually every day of the week at our school.  Not only does their enthusiasm contribute to an atmosphere of warmth and support that is tremendously beneficial for our students but they do many things to make the school function more smoothly.  Whether it is "Read with Me" mentors for children needing individual attention, or stacks of books needing to be re-shelved, our volunteers cheerfully chip in as valued members of the Lendrum pride.  To ensure student and staff safety, all volunteers are required to register at the office.
